The main idea behind creating Taboo Talks a public website is to let people feel free to share their experiences, ideas, views or content on topics they consider taboo.

she is a woman

Is it her fault she is a woman?

Women are unsafe even if they are outside when it’s broad daylight. They are being attacked whether they are inside their home or outside.

She is a woman

As soon as the clock strikes 8, it is time for girls and women to shut themselves in their home and while this happens the men can roam around freely. Men can stay out of their homes without any time-bound, but women return home strictly before it gets dark outside.

Teach your son some values

We understand that you want to keep us safe, why not tell your sons to be at their home by 8 so that women can roam freely on the streets. Why is it ok for men to stay out late and not okay for a woman? We think keeping our daughters at home will keep them safe unaware that they are unsafe anywhere. During lock-down 77 cases of domestic violence were reported.

Some question I want to ask

Women are safe nowhere no matter the time. Why it is that a woman is blamed for the violence and assault that happened on them? Why was Nirbhaya blamed for staying out late at night, why people judge women’s character by the clothes they wear? When will women feel safe again?

The reality of women(she is a woman)

Women are unsafe even if they are outside when it’s broad daylight. They are being attacked whether they are inside their home or outside. They are not even safe with their relatives. Cases have been registered where male relatives assaulted the women of their own family.

Many cases go unregistered because the women do not feel safe enough to even register an FIR. Let us for once tell our sons that no means no. For once, let us change our perspective. For once, let us make our daughters feel safe and secure.

Do you believe in gender equality? Do you believe in the liberation of women? Do you believe that a society that denies equal gender rights can never be progressive?
